Had heart surgery, so I needed a crossbow for turkey season. Am limited in the amount of lifting I can do, so I bought this cranking cocker to cock my 150# SAS crossbow.
The PSE speed loader easily adjusted to the wood stock on the bow. I found that if I placed the hooks about 1/2” away from the barrel, they would not catch on the safety pin. After unwinding the cord all the way out, place the hooks with the opening up, and pull the cord from in between the hooks all the way back behind the speed loader on the butt. Place the cord BELOW the spool mechanism and take up the slack. Placing the cord like this gives a 2-1 mechanical advantage, and locks the cocking device against the butt stock so it cant slip off. Check to see that both sides are even, and the hooks are 1/2” away from the barrel. Crank the string back, checking to see the hook does not catch on the safety pin, until the string is back and locked. I was able to turn the crank using only my hand and wrist, without overdoing anything.
