If you are the type of person where hunting is a 365 day passion rather than a 30 day hobby, you don't want to miss out on this opportunity to go small game hunting with a bow. Here are the top 3 reasons you should stop reading this and head outside.

1. Practice

Here is the number one reason for the perfectionists out there. If you truly are looking to become an expert marksman with your bow you have to hunt with it very often. Small game hunting affords you the chance to extend your hunting seasons into the early months of the year and practice on small targets. By mounting a judo point on your arrow, you can instantly turn everything else into a target as well. In a sport where accuracy is everything, small game hunting with a bow is an excellent way to build that skill.

2. Fun

Sure I may be in my early thirties, but I'm not scared to admit that I like to go small game hunting with a bow. It's an absolute blast. In the areas I hunt and have access to, cottontails are number one on my hit list when I head out. As you probably know, these tiny critters are much easier to hit when sitting snuggly tucked beneath some brush hoping you will just walk right on by. That happens occasionally, but it's not unheard of for the little guys to take off and try to outdistance you. Running shots on cottontails is such a challenge and so much fun it is hard to overstate. Many small game animals offer similar challenges, and these low stress hunts are a hoot to be on.

3. Outside

Many bowhunters crave the opportunity to simply get outside and go. Lots of guys and gals bowhunt because it offers longer seasons, a better time of the year to be out, and simply more time to be outside enjoying the great outdoors. Small game hunting with a bow is a wonderful way to get some fresh air at a time of year when it may be hard to find ways to do that. There you have it, the top 3 reasons you should have stopped reading this post and gotten outside to do some small game hunting with a bow. Good luck. NEXT: WINTERTIME FUN: COYOTE CALLING
