Archery is one of the most intricate sports in the world. This is because of the controlled and uncontrolled variables that come into play when playing the sport. A high level of skill is also required to hit the targets at farther distances. Although a difficult sport,
archery is still one of the most played sports in the world because of tradition.
Archery Clubs and Associations
As with any other form of interest, archery enthusiasts have set up archery clubs as meeting places for people who share the same passion for archery. Unlike hunting clubs which are divided by location and the animals to be hunted, archery clubs are only divided by location. There are also many national archery associations that are comprised by several states. The 5 largest archery clubs in the USA are USA Archery, National Field Archery Association, Archery Shooters Association, Texas State
Archery Association, and Alaska State Archery Association. All of these clubs aim to promote archery and to practice archery for international tournaments. These clubs also offer archery lessons for amateurs as well as retailing bows and arrows.
Why Are They The Biggest Archery Associations?
The USA Archery, National Field Archery Association, and Archery Shooters Association are nationally recognized archery clubs giving them the largest number of members. These three clubs have been known to have members that represent the United States in the Olympics. The two other archery clubs are known to have large number of members because of their respective states. Alaska and Texas are the two largest states in the United States and as such have the largest potential number of members of any state.
