Does the Barnett crossbow recall affect you?[/caption]
On December 8, 2016
PRNewswire released that news of a Barnett crossbow recall. A quick jump to the Barnet website confirmed the recall notice on six different Barnett
models of crossbows.
The recall is in effect after Barnett discovered the mechanism that detects whether an arrow is properly loaded
can malfunction. This particular malfunction can cause arrows to be fired unexpectedly. In the last few months Barnett has received three separate reports of their crossbows firing unexpectedly causing one injury. The Barnett website reported this defect impacts around 3,300 total units around the country.
Barnett is recalling the Browning OneSixOne (model number 80005), Barnett Ghost 415 Mossy Oak (model number 78059), Browning OneSixTwo (model number 80004), Barnett Ghost 415 Monochrome (model number 78044), Barnett RazrIce (model number 78212), and Barnett Razr(model number 78210). You can also go to the
Barnett website in order to get a product description of each crossbow.
If you happen to have one of the models mentioned in the recall you should stop using the crossbow immediately. A defect like this can pose a significant threat and should be repaired. You should also contact Barnett customer support at 800-237-4507 to send your crossbow in. Once Barnett receives the crossbow they will install a brand new functional trigger system free of charge.
Any other questions about the Barnett crossbow recall should be directed to
