Carbon Express has issued a recall with the Blade model.[/caption]
Late in 2016, a Carbon Express crossbow recall
was issued. The recall is aimed at two of the Carbon Express Blade models that can unexpectedly fire. This recall will impact about
3,800 units around the country.
Carbon Express was made aware of the engineering fault late in 2016 after one customer reported an incident in which their crossbow fired unexpectedly and resulted in a thumb laceration. The problem exists because there is a defect in the safety. This problem allows the crossbow to be fired even while the safety is engaged.
The models involved in the Carbon Express crossbow recall are the Blade models. The recall involves the
Blade in camoflague (model 20240) and in black (model 20292). Both models have "Blade" printed on the limbs.
If you happen to own one of these models you should call Carbon Express. You can also access
this information put on Carbon Express' website. To have the crossbow repaired you should call the company at 800-211-5982 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
This recall was issued voluntarily by the company.
