Gear Review: TenPoint Stealth FX4

The impressive TenPoint Stealth FX4 is a top notch crossbow produced by one of the best in the industry.

TenPoint has earned a reputation in the crossbow world for making outstanding bows. Some feel their bows are comparable to the BMW and Mercedes Benz of the auto world. A reputation such as this isn't easily won, so you can bet anything with the TenPoint logo on it will cut no corners in development. The TenPoint Stealth FX 4 is a great example of that. [caption id="attachment_6517" align="alignright" width="300"]TenPoint Stealth FX4 TenPoint Stealth FX4[/caption] The TenPoint Stealth FX4 is one of the companies finest crossbows. From top-to-bottom and front-to-back this bow has it all. The FX4 really begins with the bull pup stock design. This stock is designed to help improve accuracy by moving the center of balance closer to the shooter. By shifting the center of balance this direction the stability during a shot is instantly increased which leads to more accurate shooting. Not only that, but the stock is designed with special cutouts to decrease the mass weight. Weighing in at 6 lbs. 8 ounces, this bow is middle of the road when it comes to weight. When looking over the specs of the FX4, you'll see a bow that is more than capable of anything you might throw at it. It uses a 185 pound draw weight to jettison arrows downrange at speed upwards of 370 feet per second. 370 fps won't win the Stealth FX4 any speed contests but it is definitely fast enough to handle any real world situation you might throw at it. Archery is all about accuracy anyways, and this TenPoint crossbow surely delivers in that regard. In fact this crossbow is sighted-in prior to shipping, so it will be driving tacks straight out of the box. Talk about earning your reputation. So the Tenpoint Stealth FX4 has a quality design and can perform with the best of them, but that's not all this bow has to offer. In fact the trimmings on this bow are just what you'd expect from TenPoint. It all starts with the scope that comes standard on the FX4. Sitting atop the bow is TenPoints 3X Pro-View 2 Scope. This scope has 3 horizontal reticles and also a fourth dot near the bottom of the scope to help with aiming on long shots. Folks familiar with these scopes like them because the 3 reticles make aiming easy, while the fourth reference point is still available if you pull the trigger on a long shot. The FX4 also comes standard with TenPoint's patented ACUdraw or ACUdraw 50 cocking system. The ACUdraw is an integrated mechanical cocking device that makes the draw on this bow essentially nothing, while the ACUdraw 50 is also an integrated system but is a rope cocking device that relieves the same pressure as a standard rope cocker. Whatever your preference is, Tenpoint has you covered. Here is a video produced by TenPoint that showcases this quality bow. When it is all tallied, the TenPoint Stealth FX4 is a great option for someone browsing top-of-the-line crossbows. It is a high performing accuracte crossbow with high quality accessories all the way around. Not only that, but when you buy the Stealth FX4 you are also buying the reputation TenPoint has for quality production. To some folks that is worth the cost right there.
