Using a bow stringer has a variety of benefits.[/caption]
Shooters of traditional bows opt for a variety of ways to string their bows. Most shooters were probably taught the first time they shot a traditional bow, and have used the same method ever since. While there are a handful of ways to string a bow, using a bow stringer is a good option for both you and your bow.
The use of a bow stringer is most beneficial to your bow. Oftentimes other methods of stringing the bow can lead to twisting of the limbs. This is a problem typically associated with the "step through" stringing method, although this method is still popular.
Learning how to use a bow stringer is as simple as it gets.
1. First off you'll need to have a bow stringer handy.
This Infitec bow stringer is cheap and will do the job just fine.
2. Fit the pocket over the lower nock on your bow with the string seated in the nock.
3. Next, slide the yoke strap over the top of the bow. Make sure the loop on your string is between the nock and the yoke.
4. Stand with two feet a little wider than shoulder width on the stringer.
5. Give the bow an easy pull by grabbing the handle and standing up.
6. Once the limbs have bent to the force applied by the stringer you should be able to easily slide your top loop into place.
7. Double check to make sure the loop is correctly seated in the string nocks before releasing pressure on the bow stringer.
8. With the string correctly seated you can release the tension on the stringer. Your bow should be properly strung and ready for use.
To remove the string simply perform the steps in a reverse order.
