Have you ever wanted to learn how to string a crossbow? Let me first start out saying that this crossbow stringing method is mainly for recurve crossbows. Anything that has to be done to service a compound crossbow has to be done with the use of a bow press.
When you pick up the crossbow stringer, you will notice one of two things. You will either have a string with coated cable around the end loops or a string that has two plastic rings on the edge of the string.
The process starts with you putting the crossbow stringer loops around both edges of the crossbow limbs so that they are securely fit. You should then place your foot in the foot stirrup and pull the crossbow stringer in the same fashion that you would when you are cocking the crossbow.
Once you have done that, you get the replacement crossbow string that you are going to put on the crossbow. You put the crossbow string through the loops that are on this particular crossbow accessories ends and then onto the crossbow limbs. You want to make sure that this is done on both sides of the stringer and that it is securely fastened before proceeding.
Once the string is securely on the limbs, you need to place your foot back in the foot stirrup and move the safety switch from the "safety" position to the "fire" position. You will grab the crossbow stringer and pull on it a bit so that it lets off. Take off the crossbow stringer and you are good to go. If you are ever interested in taking the string on or off, you would repeat the same process and just remove/place the string back onto/off of the bow.
There you go! It was as simple as that. Your crossbow is now strung, thanks to one of these wonderful crossbow accessories.
