When you are out bow hunting, I believe that aiming is the most essential part of having a successful hunt. While I do not advocate shooting at distances over 20-30 yards, the shooter should be aware that when you start getting further and further away from your target, even the slightest deviation in your aim will greatly affect the shot. The confidence that comes with the shot can only be built up after repeatedly practicing and perfecting your shot. It is important that when you are building up your shooting technique, you learn to have the have the highest level of concentration that you can handle.
One trick that
helps to get the greatest amount of focus involves using mental imagery. This process involves you basically burning a hole in the target with your eyes, where you want the arrow to land. If you have tried this technique before then you know how helpful it can be during bow hunting trips. Visualizing the double lung hit on that whitetail deer through on of your
bow sights will most certainly help you achieve that shot if you have good shooting for and fundamentals.
Visualizing will help you attain your shot, but it requires a lot of mental effort. Surprisingly, if you reduce the amount of tension that are in your muscles during the shot, then your will be able to have more mental clarity. This makes sense because when you have muscles that are tense, they take some of the needed energy that you will need to focus. If you are extremely tense, then it is more than likely that you will transfer some of that tense energy to the bow. This will cause your shooting arm to move around a bunch a decrease your ability to aim effectively. Having good
bow sights, along with a clear and focused mind will help you get your desired tags.
