Proud New Member of 2 New Organizations: NSSF and IBO

NSSF

Thecrossbowstore.com is now a member of two of the hunting industry's leading foundations. The first is the NSSF. They are better known as the National Shooting Sports Foundation, and they are dedicated to promoting, protecting, and preserving all hunting and shooting sports. They have been around since 1961, and they are showing no signs of wear. They boast a membership base of more than 11,000 dedicated members.

We joined the NSSF for various reasons. One of which was the strength that it gives to our community of archery shooters. We know that the NSSF is out there every day fighting for our all of our collective shooting sports, and we thank them for that. They also help to usher in the new group of shooters that our sports needs to continue to thrive.

IBO

We are also now a member of the IBO, or the international bowhunting organization. Their preamble states "...they want to unify bow hunters to promote, encourage, and foster the sport of Bowhunting." It sounds similar to the NSSF, but this organization has more of a focus on the bowhunting/archery industry. It was created in 1984 by a group of bow hunters that wanted to preserve the ideals of bow hunting and ensure that spirit of the sport lives on. The times may changes, but we want to preserve the nature of bowhunting as a sport. Since their inception, they began a "Triple Crown" shooting event which consists of 3 national 3-D tournaments in separate states. This tournament is becoming the 3-D shoot to attend.

The fees that are collected from their IBO Bowhunter Defense Fund Range are earmarked for the defense of furthering and protecting the sport bow hunting. To date they have used 550,000 to ensure that the sport lives on. It does not matter if you are shooting a compound bow, or a recurve, what matters is that you are bow hunting In 2009 the organization held its 25th anniversary.
