What Quiver is right for Me?

[caption id="attachment_3784" align="alignleft" width="175"]A leather version of the back quiver. A leather version of the back quiver.[/caption] What types of quivers are out there? Which one is the best one for me? Today we will try to help you break through some of the clutter as we help you answer some of these questions. The different types of quivers that are out there are the two-piece, the one-piece detachable, and the side/back quivers. The two-piece quiver has a bottom bracket and a top hood that attach to your riser. The one-piece attaches to your riser and typically has a lever or slide that allows you to remove it quickly from your bow. The final options are the back/side that, as the name states, is worn on your back or you hip area. The type of quiver that is best for you depends on your personal preference and your intended use. The two-piece quivers generally offer you the quietest choice. The disadvantage to this type of bow is that it stays attached to your setup so you are going to have some added weight on your bow and you will not be able to remove it when you are in your blind. You also, might not be able to fit it in your bow case (if you have one) One-pieces are the popular choice for many hunters. They provide the shooter with the greatest flexibility. Everybody wants to customize their rig to their own specific setup and this allows you to set it up to your style. You can put it out of the way, if you are setting up in your hunting blind, or moving around frequently. The back/side mounts are free hanging on your body and not on the bow. Picture the setup that Robin Hood would have used and you have a good idea of a back arrow quiver. Shooters that prefer a more natural feel tend to choose this option because you can also take it off and rest it on something while you shoot. It feels like you are shooting at your local range or in your backyard! You can typically carry a larger amount of arrows on these quivers. The other options usually have a fixed amount of 3, 5, 6, or 8 arrows. Weight your options, and research the models that you are looking at to be sure that you receive the quiver that is best suited to your needs.
